i am startled. in a very good way cause next month i’ve got a new adventure to go through starring myself. like danny wallace would call it a stupid boy project. i love stupid boy projects.

i found out about a website called health month. it is all about personal goals and serves as a control tool for your efforts. in a way it is an online personal coach. i mean everyone knows the problem: you really want to drink less coffee or alcohol or both. of course you also need to exercise more, eat better, sleep more, while getting your freelance work done on time and noone’s really good at these things. i always feel like it’s superhard to reach my goals if i don’t actually have to. there has to be some sort of pressure afterall.

the last month i had so many things i wanted to do like: go to work by bike, run at least two times a week, eat less processed food (instead taking my own to work), drinking less alcohol, trying to write a blogpost (at least once a week), putting a little bit money aside (to afford my next holiday)

i really like to do all these things because they are good for me in many ways, but to be honest, i usually start something off and sooner or later i forget about it more and more. so, i’m betraying myself in a way it bothers me, it even makes me feel unhappy sometimes. this is crap.

hopefully this is where the health month comes in and helps me out. it actually forces me to keep track of and to recapitulate my efforts. two rules for your health month are free, if you need more, it is 5$ per month.
ok, for something you don’t really need or could do for yourself this is expensive, but i think it is important to pay a little fee, because that makes it more serious. anyway i plan on doing it over the next month to challange myself and maybe i will blog about it here to keep me under the right amount of pressure ;-)

a few words how it works: first of all you have to register and set some rules. 2 rules a month are usually free. more rules are 5 dollar per game. the term “game” makes it even sound better and more fun. and maybe that’s a major point of thinking about it. it should be fun at least a bit. so after setting up you’re very own rules, before the next month, and therefor before the next game starts, you’re good to go.

while setting my rules i recognized that most of the things i came up with was already there as a custom rule. seems like many people have the same goals and the same problems of reaching them properly. it is a good thing not to be alone in this. you could even join teams and exchange with others.

now while finishing this article i have set up 14 rules with more or less hard to achieve goals for my next months game. health month rates my difficulty level hard. i don’t know but maybe they are right. i will see.

and again i am really stoked. i can’t wait the game to start.
